Leadership & Manager Development
Yesterday, they were your peer. Today, you approve their leave requests.
The jump from doing the work to being responsible for other people doing it is one of the hardest transitions in a career, and one of the least prepared-for. This module exists for exactly that gap.
Start a Discovery CallThe Problem
Most first-time managers are promoted because they were excellent individual contributors. Nothing about that role, though, taught them how to give feedback, handle a former peer who's now a direct report, or decide when to step in versus step back. They're left to figure it out live, on a team that's watching closely.
Why It Matters
A shaky first year in management shapes how someone leads for years afterward, and it shapes how their team experiences being managed. Getting this transition right early is far cheaper than untangling bad habits later.
How the Module Works
What New Managers Develop
A working sense of when to direct and when to let go, the language to give feedback without it feeling like a confrontation, and enough confidence to handle the awkward first few months without pretending they have it all figured out.
Who This Is For
Anyone promoted into management for the first time, ideally within their first three to six months in the role.
Typical Format
A cohort-based program for newly promoted managers, combining workshop sessions with real scenarios from their own teams, plus optional one-to-one coaching for the trickiest situations.

Frequently asked questions
What if we are not sure training is the right answer?
That is where Nivento starts. We look at the situation first and may recommend training, role clarity, communication work, leadership development, process changes, advisory support or a combination.
Can an intervention be adapted to our context?
Yes. The pathway provides a starting structure, while the final intervention can be shaped around your people, work environment, priorities and constraints.
Can we start with an assessment?
Yes. Selected Nivento assessments can help structure reflection before a conversation. They are developmental tools, not clinical or diagnostic tests.
Do you work only with large organizations?
No. The approach can be shaped for the scale and context of the organization.
